Swiftkey update: phone number & email predictions back, 8 new languages and more
Swiftkey continues to be one of the most popular third-party keyboards in the Google Play Store, in big part thanks to its text prediction capabilities. It has been previously called a “mind-reading” system and does wonders, but it’s not immune to bugs and a recent one was pretty serious. This bug was mixing up all users’ predictions for phone numbers, emails and @ mentions.
The sync service was shut down for a while, but the latest update finally brings it back online. The system will now continue predicting your phone numbers, emails and @ mentions. There is a slight downside, though – Swiftkey mentions all previously learnt predictions of this type have been deleted. This pretty much means you will have to teach them to your keyboard all over again. This could be n inconvenience, but it shouldn’t take long to get Swiftkey up to speed again.
Other improvements include the addition of 8 new languages: Kurdish, Aragonese, Maltese, Nynorsk, Frisian, Luxembourgish, Faroese and Asturian. They also added a couple fixes to the Talkback feature and the experience for Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge users.
Ready for some prediction goodness? Just go to the Google Play Store and grab the update!
