Sony is taking to their social media channels to tease the company’s next full-sized tablet, the Xperia Z4 Tablet. Complete with the hashtag “SonyMWC”, Sony quotes the device as being slimmer, lighter and brighter, and that this “mystery device” will be unveiled on 02/03/15.
Slimmer. Lighter. Brighter. All will be revealed on 02.03.15. #Xperia#SonyMWCpic.twitter.com/VHW7q52Ywx— Sony Xperia (@sonyxperia) February 26, 2015
Just from the image provided, it’s easy to tell that the new device is a tablet. But thanks to a leak from Sony a few days ago, we know that the launch of the Xperia Z4 Tablet is imminent. In the screenshots taken from the product page, Sony quotes the Z4 Tablet as featuring “the latest ultra fast processor” and “industry leading battery performance”. Additionally, the new tablet will sport a 2K display.
Judging by the two images we’ve seen of the device so far, we can say that the tablet takes major design queues from the company’s most recent tablet, the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. Much like most other Sony products, we’re not expecting to see any major design overhauls here, though the promise of a thinner and lighter tablet with a 2K display does sound quite attractive.
We’ll be sure to keep you informed if any other details surface before the official announcement. Android Authority has a team on the floor at MWC 2015, so be sure to stay tuned for all of the latest news from Sony and all the other OEMs at the trade show.
