TL;DR
  • Sony has finally detailed the PlayStation Plus Collection, which arrives with the PS5 on November 12.
  • It includes Sony hits like God of War and Uncharted 4 as well as third-party games like Final Fantasy XV and Resident Evil 7.
  • The first PS5 game on PlayStation Plus will be the kid-friendly Bugsnax.

Sony has been shy about detailing the PS5’s bundle of classic PS4 games, but you no longer have to wonder. The company has outlined just what you’ll get with the PlayStation Plus Collection, which is now slated to arrive alongside the PS5 when it launches on November 12 in the US, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea. It’ll be available in the rest of the world when the PS5 reaches those countries on November 19th.

The PlayStation Plus Collection offers a mix of first- and third-party titles. Sony’s Worldwide Studios will offer several big PS4 hits, including God of War, The Last Guardian, The Last of Us Remastered, and Uncharted 4. The third-party selection is eclectic and includes Battlefield 1, Fallout 4, Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition and Resident Evil 7, among others. You can see the full list below.

You won’t need to pay extra for the PlayStation Plus Collection beyond the PS5 and your Plus subscription. There aren’t any dramatic visual improvements, Sony said, but you should see better or more consistent frame rates as well as improved load times.

And yes, there will be PS5-native games on PlayStation Plus to go alongside the Collection. The first PS5 Plus title is Bugsnax, the creature discovery game from Octodad creator Young Horses. It will be available from November 12 through January 4, 2021, suggesting that you might not see more PS5 games on Plus until there’s a richer library.

The PlayStation Plus Collection and Bugsnax won’t satisfy every PS5 owner. You won’t find other hits, like Spider-Man. However, they could be crucial to winning over gamers who might be tempted to buy the Xbox Series X, not to mention PS4 holdouts. These give you a healthy selection of games to play the moment you fire up your new console, even if you’ve never used a PlayStation before.

Games from Sony’s Worldwide Studios:

  • Detroit: Become Human
  • God of War
