- Samsung is expanding the stable One UI 9 update to the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 in the US.
- The Android 17 update is reaching both carrier-locked and unlocked models, though availability still varies by carrier and device.
- One UI 9 adds new Galaxy AI features, more Quick Panel customization, privacy upgrades, Samsung Health improvements, and device-specific changes for the foldables.
Samsung’s stable One UI 9 rollout has been gathering pace over the past few weeks, but owners of some of the company’s biggest 2025 flagships outside South Korea have mostly been watching from the sidelines. That is finally changing, with the Android 17 update now reaching more Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 models in the US.
This comes about a week after Samsung started updating these devices in South Korea. The US rollout initially appeared on a handful of carrier variants, but it is now expanding to both carrier-locked and unlocked models.
For the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra, the update carries firmware versions ending in DZIF. Reports on Reddit indicate the Galaxy S25 Ultra package weighs around 3.9GB, while the S25 Plus OTA is about 3.8GB for users upgrading directly from One UI 8.5. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is receiving F966USQUCCZIH, while the Galaxy Z Flip 7 gets F766USQUCCZIH.
Availability still depends on your carrier and exact device variant. The Flip 7 rollout has been spotted on AT&T, while the Fold 7 has appeared on T-Mobile and Verizon, among others. Samsung’s own update pages confirm Android 17 builds for both foldables. The update pages are also live for multiple S25 series variants.
One UI 9 introduces a more customizable Quick Panel, improved Now nudge suggestions, My FanCam, new privacy and security alerts, Samsung Health upgrades, and DeX improvements. Fold 7 users also get additional multitasking controls, while the Flip 7 gains several cover screen improvements.
The US rollout also signals that Samsung is moving into the wider international phase of its One UI 9 release. Other markets should follow as the staged rollout continues.
If you own one of these phones, head to Settings > Software update > Download and install to check whether One UI 9 is waiting for you.
