TL;DR
  • Samsung’s stable One UI 9 update is rolling out to Galaxy S24-series users in the US.
  • The rollout is also reaching Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 users, including factory-unlocked US models.
  • The update weighs about 4GB, includes the September 2026 security patch, and is also expanding to other markets.

Samsung’s One UI 9 rollout has been steadily working its way backward through the company’s flagship lineup. After reaching the Galaxy S26 and S25 families, Samsung turned its attention to the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 in South Korea last week. We expected other markets to follow soon, and that expansion is now underway.

Stable One UI 9, based on Android 17, has begun rolling out to Galaxy S24-series owners in the US, with users reporting the update on both T-Mobile and AT&T devices. The rollout is also spreading beyond the US, with reports that the update has arrived in India and other markets.

Screenshots posted on Reddit show the update downloading on US Galaxy S24 Ultra units on T-Mobile and AT&T. It weighs 3,909.8MB, includes the September 5, 2026 security patch, and carries firmware version S928USQU6EZIF. At nearly 4GB, this is a substantial download, so connect to a solid Wi-Fi network before hitting the update button.

Samsung hasn’t published the corresponding changelog on its US device pages yet, but One UI 9 is hardly unknown by now. The Android 17-based update includes expanded Galaxy AI features, interface and customization improvements, privacy and security changes, Samsung Health upgrades, and refinements across several Samsung apps.

And the Galaxy S24 series isn’t making the jump alone.

According to user Mohammed Khatri on X, stable One UI 9 is now rolling out to factory-unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 units in the US. The Fold 6 is receiving firmware version F956U1UEU4EZIH, while the Flip 6 is receiving F741U1UEU4EZIH. Tarun Vats on X has also spotted the update expanding to Galaxy A57 users in Europe following last week’s release in Korea.

As always, OTA updates roll out in stages, so the notification may not appear on every eligible phone immediately. Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and A57 owners can wait for Samsung to knock on the door or check manually under Settings > Software update > Download and install.

With both carrier and unlocked models now receiving the update in the US, One UI 9 is no longer just around the corner for Samsung’s 2024 flagship owners. It’s already arriving.
