Samsung is the biggest name in Android tablets right now. As other companies have dropped their tablet ambitions, Samsung continues to pump out options at almost every price range. One of its most inexpensive options is the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0, and now it’s available in India.
As the name indicates, the Galaxy Tab A 7.0 sports a 7-inch display with a 1280 x 800 resolution. It has a quad-core Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, 1.5 GB of RAM, and a 5 MP rear camera. Around front, you’ll find a 2 MP camera for video chatting and selfies. There is only 8 GB of onboard storage, but it supports microSD cards up to 200 GB. The battery clocks in at a decent 4,000 mAh.
As for connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0 supports both 4G and Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, the tablet only supports 802.11 b/g/n, and not the newest ac standard. There’s also support for Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, and an FM radio.
Samsung is offering parents some powerful tools on the Galaxy Tab A 7.0 with both a Kids Mode and parental controls. Parents are able to set time limits and restrict the content kids are able to access without looking over their shoulder all the time.
Samsung has also teamed up with Reliance Jio for a special promotion. Tablet owners can get a cashback of Rs. 2,000 on a recharge of Jio’s Rs. 299 pack. Users must use the 24-month option and will get Rs. 800 after the first 12 months, and Rs. 1,200 for the final year. Users can claim the credit after performing 13 successful recharges of Rs. 299, according to Samsung.
