Samsung’s Galaxy S8 series has been extremely popular among consumers thus far – the company sold five million units in the first month alone. Despite getting off to a good start, rumors have popped up recently claiming sales have been slowing down and are actually behind those of the Galaxy S7 in the same time period. Now it looks like those rumors are false.

At a recent press conference in Taipei, Samsung’s CEO DJ Koh has set the record straight. He said that at this point, Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus sales are 15 percent higher than those of their predecessors.

Unfortunately Koh didn’t share any specific details in term of the number of units sold, but he did mention that the company expects the sales momentum of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will continue on in the third and fourth quarter of the year.

So, there you have it. The Galaxy S8 series is still more popular than last year’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in terms of sales. In a way, that’s not really surprising, as the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus do bring quite a few new things to the table.
