New Galaxy S27 leak is great news for performance, bad news for your wallet

We may be months away from the expected Galaxy S27 series launch next year, but the leaks keep on coming. We’ve already seen leaked renders of the Galaxy S27 Ultra and found battery and charging information on regulatory websites. Now, a new leak has shed light on the storage and memory specifications for all phones in the Galaxy S27 series.

Leaker Lanzuk, writing on the Korean blog Naver, shared memory and storage configurations they claim to have obtained from Weibo and Korean industry sources. Here are the configurations for each phone in the Galaxy S27 series:

• Galaxy S27 Ultra:
  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage
  • 12GB RAM + 512GB storage
  • 16GB RAM + 1TB storage
• Galaxy S27 Pro:
  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage
  • 12GB RAM + 512GB storage
  • 12GB RAM + 1TB storage
• Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus:
  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage
  • 12GB RAM + 512GB storage

The leaker also says the S27 Ultra and S27 Pro models will likely use UFS 5.1 storage and LPDDR6 RAM. This would be a noticeable jump from the UFS 4.0 and LPDDR5X standards used in the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Earlier leaks suggested that the Galaxy S27 Ultra could feature the Exynos 2700 in some regions and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 in markets such as the US. We’ve also heard rumors that the S27 Pro and Ultra could be the first Samsung phones to use the company’s in-house M16 OLED panel, offering better brightness, color performance, and power efficiency.

Samsung is also expected to upgrade the panels on the standard Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus from the M13 panel to the M14 panel used in the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

While it would be impressive for Samsung to offer 12GB of RAM on the base Galaxy S27, it also raises questions about what this could mean for the Galaxy S27 series’ pricing. The phones are expected to feature better OLED panels, include 12GB of RAM in the base models, and use new Snapdragon chipsets — all of which point toward a noticeable price hike.
