TL;DR
  • A new Samsung Galaxy S21 leak was just published, revealing key specs and features.
  • The report also reveals more apparent details about the phone’s improved camera features.

The latest report of a Samsung Galaxy S21 leak (which we have been calling the Galaxy S30 until now) is a pretty extensive one. It comes from Android Police, which claims it has received information about the next flagship Galaxy phone series from multiple sources. Android Police has also seen official renders of the three phones in the series but could not post the images.

Samsung Galaxy S21 series hardware specs

All three phones will reportedly have the currently unannounced Snapdragon 875 processor for some markets, while others will get Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2100 chipset.  The Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus will reportedly have 5G support, along with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 wireless hardware. The S21 Ultra will also have 5G and Bluetooth 5.1, but will have the more advanced Wi-Fi 6E hardware, which the report claims will be twice as fast as Wi-Fi 6.

Battery sizes for the phones will reportedly range from 4,000mAh for the Galaxy S21, 4,800mAh for the S21 Plus, and 5,000mAh for the S21 Ultra. All three phones will reportedly launch with the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 skin.

In terms of a display, the regular S21 will have a 6.2-inch screen, while the S21 Plus will get a 6.8-inch screen. B0th will support FHD+ resolutions and a 120Hz refresh rate. The S21 Ultra will reportedly have a 6.9-inch screen with a WQHD+ resolution and an LTPO screen that will have an adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz. The Ultra model may also have a very high 1,600 nits of brightness limit for the display, and a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Finally, the Ultra phone will actually support Samsung’s S Pen, but won’t include the stylus in the box.

Galaxy S21 series camera specs

The Galaxy S21 and S21 Ultra will reportedly both have the same rear camera setup, with a 12MP main sensor, a 64MP telephoto camera, and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. The Ultra model will have four rear cameras, according to the report. The main sensor will be a huge 108MP camera, which the outlet says will be the second-generation version of the sensor found on the S20 Ultra and Note 20 Ultra. The S21 Ultra will have a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and the other two cameras will both be 10MP. One will have a 3x optical zoom, while the other will be a 10x optical zoom.

The phones will reportedly include a way to record from both the front and rear cameras at the same time. All of the phones’ cameras will support 4K resolutions and video clips taken at 60fps, according to the story, and there will even be support for 8K videos at 30fps.

Other features

The Galaxy S21 will reportedly have color choices of Phantom Violet, Phantom Gray, Phantom White, and Phantom Pink. The S21 Plus may have Phantom Silver, Phantom Black, and Phantom Violet colors. The S21 Ultra will just have Phantom Silver and Phantom Black color choices. The regular S21 will have a plastic back, while the Ultra model will have a glass back.

Speaking of the back, the report claims recent unofficial renders of the phones are correct in that the camera setups will be put into the frame of the phone with a small bump. Depending on the phone’s color, its frame and the camera bump will be different colors. The Phantom Black phone color will have a black frame and camera bump while the Phantom Violet and Phantom Pink color models will have a copper body. The Phantom White color model supposedly has “a subtle blue tint with a bronze bezel.”

Finally, the S21 Plus and Ultra versions will have 5G Ultra Wideband versions that will likely only be available in the US via Verizon.

As you can see, this Galaxy S21 leak report is very extensive. Keep in mind this comes from unnamed sources, so some details could change before the release of the phones.
