Samsung’s Galaxy A smartphone series is slowly making its way around the world and the UK is next on the launch list. Samsung has announced that the Galaxy A3 and A5 will go on sale in the UK this February.

A number of high street retailers will stock the handsets, including the Carphone Warehouse, EE and O2, as well as Samsung’s own stores. Early birds can also head on over to pre-order the smartphones directly from the Samsung website today. Prices are listed on website as £349.00 for the Galaxy A5 and £249.00 for the Galaxy A3.

As for hardware, the A5 and A3 are mid-range handsets, similar to the Galaxy Alpha. Both feature a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 SoC, 5MP front facing cameras, 16GB of internal memory with up to 64GB of extra microSD storage and LTE data connectivity. The main difference between the two comes in display size and resolution, 4.5-inch qHD in the A3 verses 5-inch 720p in the A5, as well as a beefed up 13 megapixel camera, an additional 512MB of RAM and a little extra battery capacity in the Galaxy A5.

The biggest selling point with the Galaxy A series is probably the metallic finish applied around the edge of the device and its slim form factor. For a closer look at what the Galaxy A3 and A5 have to offer, be sure to check out our in-depth review.

Both handsets will be available in Midnight Black and Pearl White colour options at launch and will be available in stores from February 12th.
