TL;DR
  • Samsung published a press release boasting the speed of its Android 13 rollout.
  • The company announced that users can expect the One UI 5 update to hit tablets before the end of the year.
  • Samsung said that it wants the next One UI update to be even faster.

For many Samsung owners, it may have felt like an eternity, but the stable One UI 5 version of Android 13 has finally made it to a number of Samsung devices. Despite what it may have felt like, it only took two months after the release of Android 13 for Samsung to start pushing out the update. Now the company is taking a victory lap and claiming that it wants future updates, such as those for Android 14, to be even faster.

Today, Samsung published a press release to talk about the expansion of One UI 5 to its library of products. In the post, the company begins discussing the benefits of One UI 5 and, further down, talks a little about the release schedule for its tablets and Galaxy S, Z, and A devices.

It’s here, Samsung mentions that the Z Flip series and the Z Fold 2 and 3 will be updated within the year, as well as the Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S7 FE, Tab S7, and Tab S6 Lite. The company also said that the S20 series and Galaxy Note 20 series will start getting the update this month. Finally, it mentioned that the Galaxy A53, A52 s 5G, A33 5G, and A32 will get the One UI 5 update later this year.

In the final section of the press release, Samsung does a little gloating, explaining that the deployment of One UI 5 surpassed previous updates in both speed and scope. Although Samsung is feeling pretty good about itself in terms of One UI 5’s rollout, the company claims it wants to go even faster next time around.

To achieve its goal of beating this latest update rollout, Samsung says that it “will continue to strengthen cooperation with Google and actively listen to user feedback to continue to update One UI faster and with higher perfection.”

Since it started the rollout of the stable version of One UI 5 back in October, the update has arrived to a number of devices, including the Galaxy S22 series, Fold 4 and Flip 4, S21, and the Tab S8. You can check out the roadmap for the One UI 5 rollout here.
