Samsung’s Galaxy A smartphone series is known for offering mid-range specs along with a premium build quality. It includes models such as the Galaxy A5, Galaxy A7, and the Galaxy A9.

The 2017 lineup of the Galaxy A series is expected to be announced soon, and according to the report from BusinessKorea, the devices will come with IP68 rating. This means that they will be both dust and water resistant and will, therefore, be able to survive under water (up to  5 feet/1.5 meters) for 30 minutes.

However, we must state that the source does not mention if all of the upcoming Galaxy A models will sport an IP68 rating, or only a few of them. The source also states that we can expect one of the Galaxy A smartphones to come with a 16MP camera and a 3,500mAh battery, but does not specify the exact model. Our best guess is that the device in question is the Galaxy A7, which received Bluetooth certification a few weeks ago.

As for the aesthetics of the devices, Samsung’s 2017 Galaxy A series of smartphones is expected to share a similar design as the Galaxy S7.

As of now, Samsung has not confirmed any of the above-mentioned rumors, so be sure to take them with a grain of salt. We’ll know more once the devices are officially announced, which will hopefully be soon. And if we hear anything more substantial before the announcement, we’ll be sure to let you know.
