Roborock takes its robot smarts outdoors with the RockNeo Q110H

No wires, no hassle

Setup happens through the Roborock app. You pair the mower, tap “Create a Map,” then drive it around the edge of your lawn once using the on-screen controls. The robot records that boundary, builds a map of your yard, and it’s ready to go.

Smart navigation

The RockNeo Q110H uses a system the company calls Sentisphere Environmental Perception. This basically means it has two ways to determine its position and switches between them automatically.

In open areas, the Q110H uses full-band RTK satellite positioning, which is accurate to a few centimeters. But satellite signals can get iffy under heavy tree cover or near a building or home. In these situations, the lawn mower switches to VSLAM for visual navigation and steers using its cameras instead.

So, whether it’s working in wide-open areas or navigating beneath trees, it will maintain steady, confident movement. It can even thread through side passages as narrow as 2.3 feet, which is the kind of gap you’ll see with the corridors that connect the front and back of the house.

Obstacle avoidance

Anyone who uses their backyard regularly knows how messy it can get. Whether it’s a garden hose left in the grass, toys scattered around the yard, or a dog zooming across the lawn, backyards are rarely obstacle-free. The RockNeo Q110H watches for it all with Stereo Vision Obstacle Avoidance, spotting objects in its path and steering around them as it goes.

The system recognizes a long list of common yard clutter, from garden tools and flower pots to lawn lights and sprinkler heads, and adjusts its route in real time to keep things safe, while maintaining a thorough, precise cut. This could mean steering around a forgotten soccer ball, safely turning away from people and pets in its path, or confidently crossing low obstacles like trampoline legs without stopping unnecessarily.

You also get the option to choose how “cautious” the robot lawn mower will be when approaching obstacles. A Minimal Collision mode makes the mower extra careful and avoids more objects, while a Maximum Coverage mode lets it ignore the small stuff to cut closer to the edges.

Closer edges

Speaking of cutting closer to the edges, other robot lawn mowers usually struggle with this, often leaving a fringe of tall grass along the sides that you’d end up trimming manually. For homeowners looking for cleaner edges, Roborock fixes this issue with its optional PreciEdge module (sold separately), a side-mounted cutter that trims as close as 1.2 inches from a boundary.

Built to handle most terrain

The RockNeo Q110H’s adaptive terrain traversal system lets it climb slopes up to 45%, which covers the vast majority of sloped yards, and it can roll over obstacles up to nearly 1.6 inches high, like roots and small lawn borders. A floating cutting deck flexes to follow the bumps and dips of your ground so the cut stays even across uneven terrain, while the big wheels keep it steady and moving with ease.

It can handle any weather, too. The RockNeo Q110H comes with an IPX6 rating for water resistance, so it can handle some rain, and you can rinse it off with your garden hose if it gets muddy. There’s a rain sensor as well, which sends the mower back to its dock when it starts raining and then sends it back out once things dry up.

Since it does its work outdoors and in sometimes unprotected areas, Roborock has added a slew of features to keep the Q110H safe. A PIN code lockout stops anyone from just picking it up and using it. You can also get an optional anti-theft module that sets off a high-decibel alarm if the mower is lifted or moved outside its mapped fence. And another optional 4G module lets you locate the robot in the app from anywhere and trigger that alarm remotely.

Complete control from your phone

Using the Roborock app from your phone, you can run a full mow, target a single zone like the front yard, or send the robot out for a quick edge trim. Multi-zone management lets you set different zones and define specific settings for each area, so it’ll treat an open lawn differently from the edges along a flower bed.

A real-time dashboard shows you where the robot is, how far along it is in the mowing process, and when it’ll finish. You can even activate a Wildlife-Friendly mode that pauses mowing during hours you choose so the robot doesn’t disturb hedgehogs and other animals that come out at night.

And the same manual mode you use for first-time mapping is also available during mowing, so you can drive the mower to a specific spot or clean up a small patch without needing to carry the device.
