How to recover your Windows 10 password in 3 Steps by USB recovery disk

We’ve all been there before. You put a brand-spanking-new password on your Windows computer, then promptly continue to use it without rebooting for several weeks. In the days of yore, that may have been the case. However today we finally have Windows password recovery software capable of getting you back in operation in between three and five minutes.

Step 1: Create a Password Reset Disk

The only real roadblock you may encounter using iSunshare Windows Password Genius is that you’ll have to have another computer to format your USB flash drive or CD. Supposing you’ve got a backup laptop, old spare device, or willing friend, this shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

After installing iSunshare Windows Password Genius on the secondary device, you’ll need to have a blank USB flash drive or blank burnable CD/DVD at the ready. Note: if you’re using a USB flash drive it already has valuable information on it, you’ll want to backup that data. The formatting process will remove anything on the drive once the process begins.

After installing iSunshare Windows Password Genius on your secondary computer, simply run the program as you would any other. A menu will prompt you to decide whether you’re going to be using a USB device or a CD/DVD. Since we find ourselves using CDs and DVDs less and less these days, we assume that most of our users are going to be using a USB flash drive for this process.

Even if you’re using such ancient technology as data on a disc, the process is essentially the same. Choose the option that you’re going to use, then select the drive where it’s located after that click begin burning.

You’ll see a notification confirming that you would like to format the storage device you’re using as a boot disk. This is your last chance to remove any valuable data from the storage device before losing it permanently. Click okay to continue.

The burning process won’t take long. For us, it was literally a matter of seconds.

Step 2: Boot the Locked Computer from the Reset Disk

Now what you’re going to want to do is return to the computer that needs its password reset. Insert the storage device that you’ve formatted for booting and turn on the computer.

While your device is booting up, repeatedly press the boot option key to reach the boot option menu. The boot option key will vary depending on your computer. For HP laptops, for instance, the boot option key is F9 or Esc. However for Acer, Lenovo ThinkPad, Samsung, and Toshiba, the boot option key is always F12. Some quick Google Fu should reveal what key you need to hit to reach the appropriate menu.

Once you’re in the menu that allows you to select your boot device, choose the USB or CD password reset disk that you’d like to boot from.

That’s it!

Step 3: Reset Windows Password

You’re almost to the finish line, and you just got started a few minutes ago. If you voted correctly from the iSunshare formatted device, then you’ll reach an interface that will allow you to choose the version of Windows you currently have installed on your computer. You’ll also see a list of users.

The method here is pretty self-explanatory. Select your version of Windows, then select the user whose password you would like to reset, then click the button labeled “Reset Password.”

A dialogue will pop up asking if you’re sure that you would like to reset the chosen password to “blank.” Click Yes to continue.
you’ll be able to see that the password column, which was previously flagged “unknown,” will now say “blank.”

Finally, click the reboot button. A notification will let you know that is now safe to eject the password recovery disk. Remove the USB flash drive or CD/DVD, then click Yes to reboot your computer with a freshly reset password.

You’re Done!

That’s literally all there is to it! if you follow these simple instructions, then you’ll arrive at your desktop with all of your valuable files and data intact. No reason to lug your computer to a shop, no fear of loss from factory reset, no racking your brain or going through old notes to try to deduce what you could have possibly innard as your old password.
