TL;DR
  • Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 10 series in March.
  • A tipster has claimed that the company will announce two models — the Redmi Note 10 and Note 10 Pro.

Update: February 10, 2021 (12:40 AM ET): Xiaomi has now confirmed that the Redmi Note 10 series will debut in India in March. That announcement lacks a specific date, so it’s unclear when the rumored pair of devices will make their official entrance.

Original article: January 20, 2021 (3:58 AM ET): Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series is generally considered among its most popular phone families around, offering plenty of features at a budget-friendly price. We’re expecting the next Redmi Note range to launch in the first half of the year, and it now looks like Indian information may have surfaced online.

Frequent tipster Ishan Agarwal and 91mobiles report that the Redmi Note 10 and Redmi Note 10 Pro will be launching in India next month. The leaker didn’t dish out specific details on pricing, but claims that the phones will offer “pretty aggressive” prices in the market to fend off arch-rival realme.

There’s no word from the tipster on Redmi Note 10 series specifications either, but we’re expecting a solid improvement over the Redmi Note 9 family. The standard and Pro models shared a 5,020mAh battery, FHD+ LCD screen with 60Hz display, and a quad rear camera setup. But the Pro differed by having a Snapdragon 720G chipset (compared to the standard model’s Helio G85), 30W wired charging (vs 18W), and a 64MP main camera (vs 48MP).

So we’re on the lookout for upgrades like a high refresh rate, potentially faster charging, improved secondary cameras, and possibly 5G support.

Agarwal also had Mi 11 series news for India, alleging that the Mi 11 will be available in 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants in gray and blue colorways. He further claimed that the unannounced Mi 11 Lite would hit the market in 6GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB, and 8GB/128GB flavors, with black, blue, and pink color options.

There’s no word on a Mi 11 series launch date in the market just yet, but we’re guessing that Indian and global launches will share the same rough timeline.
