Xiaomi just launched the Redmi K30 5G and Redmi K30 4G in China. Now, a tipster suggests that the Redmi K30 Pro is also on its way and will launch next year.

Tipster Sudhashu Ambhore tweeted that the K30 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 865 SoC and will launch in March 2020. He also said that the chipset will be paired with the Qualcomm X55 modem for 5G connectivity. This is a given since Qualcomm’s already confirmed that all Snapdragon 865 phones will feature the 5G modem. It’s a package deal so we’re not sure how Xiaomi will keep the price of the device in the affordable range.

Little is known about the Redmi K30 Pro right now. However, judging by the Redmi K30’s specs, Xiaomi could include the same FHD+ 120Hz display on the device. A camera upgrade can also be expected since the Snapdragon 865 supports up to 200MP camera sensors. It’s also capable of 960fps/720p slow-motion video recording and 8K/30fps video capture.

Besides a bump in camera specs, you can also expect the Redmi K30 Pro to bring in a major boost in CPU and GPU performance. It could also get additional features such as an in-display fingerprint sensor instead of the Redmi K30’s side-mounted physical scanner.

We were hoping to hear about the Redmi K30 Pro during the launch of the Redmi K30. If it’s indeed launching in March, Xiaomi would likely only start teasing the device in the new year.

For now, all eyes are on the wider availability of the Redmi K30. The device is already available on pre-sale in China. A wider launch should follow soon.
