realme launched the realme XT in India today, but the company also had some news for current realme owners. And no, it’s not going to give you a free upgrade to the new 64MP phone.

The brand revealed its Android 10 roadmap on Twitter, confirming that the realme 3 Pro, realme 5 Pro, realme X, and realme XT will receive the update in Q1 2020.

As promised, here’s our roadmap for launching the #Android10 update for #realme smartphones!

Got a realme 3, realme 3i, or realme 5? Then you can expect Android 10 to hit your device in Q2 2020. Meanwhile, the realme 2 Pro will receive the update in Q3.

Unfortunately, it seems like the realme 1, realme 2, realme U1, and realme C devices won’t get Android 10 at all. It’s rather disappointing, as most of these phones were launched just a year ago (or in April, in the case of the realme C2).

It’s unclear whether realme will take the Xiaomi route and update the Android skin on these phones instead. Xiaomi tends to do this with its older budget devices, leaving them on the same Android version but updating MIUI.

It’s also possible that the brand might just skip Android 10 on these phones in favor of the next version of Android, but we’d bet our money on them merely updating the skin instead.

Got a realme phone that’s getting Android 10? Then you can likely expect overhauled privacy permissions, a system-wide dark mode, Smart Reply for messaging apps, and some security updates via the Play Store.
