TL;DR
  • A leaked piece of promotional material suggests Google’s Project Fi is going to become Google Fi.
  • The leaked promotional pamphlet allegedly came with a new Google Pixel 3 device.
  • If Project Fi is getting renamed, it suggests Google is escalating its focus on the innovative wireless service.

A piece of promotional material hit Reddit this morning which suggests Google’s Project Fi might be getting a rebrand. According to the leaked material, Project Fi is going to be renamed Google Fi at some point in the future.

The leaked promotional material is a pamphlet promoting “Google Fi” which allegedly came inside the box with a new Google Pixel 3.

You can see the image below:

The new name of the company also seems to coincide with a new logo which incorporates the familiar red, yellow, blue, and green coloring of the Google logo seen everywhere from Google.com to icons within Gmail.

If we’re to assume this leaked promotional material is legitimate, it would signify that Google intends to put more focus on its innovative wireless service company. Hopefully, this would mean more supported devices, easier access to services, and maybe even different pricing tiers.

What do you think? Is this a good sign of Project Fi’s expansion, or is this a potential rebrand and nothing more? Let us know your theories in the comments!
