Smart speakers saw massive growth in 2017, and it seems like that trend is continuing on in 2018. For example, most audio equipment companies now offer AI-powered speakers, and Polk is the latest company to join the list. Meet the all-new Polk Assist: the US audio company’s very first Google Assistant-powered speaker. Priced at $199, the Polk Assist will be available for purchase from the company’s official website starting June 4.

What makes the Polk Assist special is that it’s designed specifically for music and music enthusiasts. With its 1-inch tweeter and 3.5-inch woofer, the Polk Assist will deliver “room-filling sound” according to the company. Although Polk is well-known for its audio products, given the Polk Assist’s smaller form factor, its audio quality is probably more comparable to JBL’s Link series rather than high-end smart speakers like the Google Home Max.
