2016 is shaping up to be delightfully Pokemon-stuffed. With Sun and Moon on their way and Pokemon Go beta footage leaking, it’s a pretty good year to be a pokefan. If you’re looking for something on your mobile device to tide you over to the augmented reality bonanza that Pokemon Go is sure to be, then you’re in luck: Pokemon TCG Online [no longer available] has just exited beta and is ready to download to your tablet from the Google Play Store.

Fans of this game on the PC are aware that this game is a digital version of the original trading card game that exploded all over the late nineties. Magic: The Gathering fans will recognize a lot of the elements of this game immediately, as Pokemon TCG is essentially a stripped down version of the popular card game.

News

The tablet version is nearly a direct port from the PC. This is good and bad news. The good news is that, since your collection of cards and all of your decks are stored in your Trainer Club account, you can seamlessly hop from PC to tablet whenever you want and get the same gaming experience. The bad news is that some users are reporting that the high use of resources makes it chug a bit from time to time.

If you’re ready to get into the card-battling spirit, click the button below to get it from the Play Store. The game is for tablets only. It is free to play but includes in-app purchases ranging from $9.99 to $99.99. Give it a spin, then come back to the comments and let us know what your experience with the game has been like in the comments!
