Pokémon Go updated with new features, Halloween in-game event begins Oct 26
Pokémon Go fans can now download the latest version of the augmented reality game from the Google Play Store. It adds a few small but interesting features and improvements to the monster catching and battling title, including some new indicators for hatching eggs.
The new version number for the Android port is 0.43.3. The biggest new feature is that eggs in the game appear in different colors, depending on the distance required to hatch them. For example, if an egg can be hatched by the player if he is within 2 km, the egg shows up as green. However, if an egg needs 10 km to be hatched, it will appear as purple in the game.
In addition, Pokémon type icons can now be seen on the information screen for each Pokémon creature with this new update. If you own the Pokémon Plus Go wearable accessory, the game now shows a low battery life indicator for that device. Finally, the 0.43.3 version has some minor, and unnamed, bug fixes.
The update comes just a few days before the first in-game event for Pokémon Go is scheduled to begin. As you might expect, the event, which begins on Wednesday October 26, is Halloween-themed, and will allow players to get double the normal amount of candy when they catch, hatch and transfer Pokémon.
Also, certain “spooky” looking Pokémon creatures will appear in the game world more often during the event, so if you have been lacking some of them in your collection, you might be able to “catch em all” this time. The Halloween Pokémon Go event will run through November 1.
Are you still playing Pokémon Go? If so, have you liked the various updates that have been added to the game since its launch in July?
