Any Nintendo Switch fans who are looking for more Pokémon Sword and Shield are in luck. There’s a brand new expansion called The Isle of Armor coming June 17.

The Pokémon Company announced an expansion pass for Pokémon Sword and Shield a while back, and it looks like it’s time to get our hands on the first one. The company also announced that the second expansion, called The Crown Tundra, would release in fall 2020.

Pokémon Sword and Shield: The Isle of Armor expansion

Pokémon Sword and Shield’s first expansion will take place in a new area in the Galar region. It expands on the game’s story and adds a new gym for players to battle. It also adds the new Galarian forms of Pokémon. The trailer presents Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Slowbro in Galarian form.

As one might expect, the expansion adds new Pokémon to the Pokedex. The trailer shows off some popular Pokémon, including Exeggutor, Tauros, Poliwag, and some others. There will be new Legendary Pokémon to track down, which is one of the most exciting aspects of any Pokémon game.

There are also tweaks and new features coming to the game that’ll alter the overall experience of playing Pokémon Sword and Shield. There’s a device called the Cram-o-Matic, which allows players to stick four items into it and receive a new item. There are also new moves called Tutor Moves coming to the game. Max Soup is a unique item that’s made with rare ingredients. With it, certain Pokémon can unlock the ability to Gigantamax.

The expansion pass is available for purchase now for $29.99. It includes both The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra.
