Playboy announces new wireless headphones for when you need private listening
If you need a set of headphones for some “private” listening time, you could reach for the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 or even the Sony WH-1000XM3. Or, you could grab your Playboy headphones.
You read that right — Playboy headphones.
The company that made its name by selling nudie mags is now getting into the audio business. Its first product is the Playboy Icon 1, a sleek set of wireless over-ear headphones. The all-black headset has several Playboy “bunny” logos inside the earcups, on the headband, and the word Playboy written across the top.
As one would expect, the Playboy Icon 1 support Bluetooth, hands-free calling, an optional wired connection, etc. Unfortunately, they don’t support USB-C — you’re stuck with Micro-USB charging speeds.
The company cites “top recognized tech reviewers” (but declines to say which ones) that apparently said, “Compared to $400 headphones made by other industry-leading brands, the Playboy Icon 1 headphones sound better.” So, there you go, that’s what a “top recognized tech reviewer” says.
Speaking of $400 headphones, these headphones cost much less than that but are still pretty pricey at $150. For that price, you get the headphones, a hard-shell carrying case, an AUX cable, a charging cable, and a microfiber cloth wipe (for the headphones).
Click the button below to grab the Playboy Icon 1. You know, if you’re into that sort of thing.
