Paranoid Android 5 ALPHA2

One month on from the launch of Paranoid Android 5.0 Alpha 1, the development team now has a second alpha build rolling out to the public.

With Alpha 2, users will find that most of the changes have been spent improving the Theme Engine and updating it to match the latest CM release. The App Ops settings feature has also made a comeback, following its disappearance after Android 4.3. App Ops should help make managing permission restrictions that little bit easier.

As for the minor changes, the Quick Settings titles can now be re-ordered. Although the layout, two expandable titles at the top and smaller tiles at the bottom, remains the same, users can now move the order of these tiles around to suit their preferences.

Before you go flashing the latest build, you should be aware that Paranoid Android 5.0 Alpha 2 does not come with addon.d backup functions included. This means that you will have to manually flash GApps, SuperSU and any other extras right after flashing the Alpha2.zip. The developers warn not to reboot before installing your GApps package, without proper backups.

You can download the Alpha 2 builds for officially supported devices through the Paranoid Android website.
