TL;DR
  • We’ve got our first real-world look at the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max ahead of its global release.
  • The phone features a revised camera housing with a metal bezel and a pill-shaped secondary island.
  • Expect a metal frame and textured finish, too.

OPPO recently launched the Find X10 series in China, with the Find X10 Pro Max leading the charge. The series still hasn’t launched in global markets just yet, but we’ve got a real-world look at the Pro Max model ahead of its release.

The global Find X10 Pro Max seems identical to the Chinese model. That means we’ve got a camera housing that builds on the Find X9 Pro‘s foundations. Expect a squircle-like camera housing once again, albeit with a metal frame and the entire plateau covered in glass. By contrast, last year’s model had individual camera cutouts in the housing. However, the new phone also has a pill-shaped island that houses the camera flash and another sensor.

Colleague Rob Triggs got his hands on the White variant and thought this color scheme was “especially nice.” He specifically pointed to the textured finish and “subtle orange camera bezel highlight.” Either way, you won’t mistake this for anything other than an ultra-premium handset. In saying so, he felt that the camera housing was fairly thick and that the phone itself consequently felt chunky.

Me? Much like the HUAWEI Mate 90 series, I’m just happy to see a phone that offers a distinctive rear design instead of copying recent iPhones. See the HONOR Magic 9 range and Xiaomi 18 Pro series for some disappointingly familiar designs.

Unfortunately, we aren’t allowed to show the screen or mention specifications just yet. But the Chinese model launched two weeks ago and has a MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro processor and an 8,000mAh battery. The Chinese variant also stands out as the first phone with three 200MP cameras. So we’re optimistic that the global variant will offer identical hardware, although there’s always the looming specter of smaller batteries.

There’s no official word on a global launch date for the Find X10 series just yet, but a recent leak points to a whopping price tag and an October 21 launch.
