TL;DR
  • A new leak has dished out plenty of apparent OnePlus Watch specs and features.
  • The new watch is tipped to offer Warp Charge, enabling a week of use with 20 minutes of charging.
  • There’s still no word on whether the watch will offer Wear OS.

The OnePlus Watch has been teased for months now, and OnePlus confirmed it would be revealed alongside the OnePlus 9 series on March 23. Regulatory filings have also given us hints of what to expect, but it looks like we’ve got a major look at specs and more ahead of next week’s launch.

Regular tipster Ishan Agarwal and Pricebaba have reported on a variety of OnePlus Watch specs, and perhaps one of the standout features is Warp Charge technology. More specifically, the duo claimed that it can provide a week of power with just 20 minutes of charging.

In terms of design, you can expect a 46mm dial size, IP68 rating, and silver or black color options.

What else should you expect?

The OnePlus Watch is pretty capable in the health and fitness area, purportedly offering automatic workout detection, a swimming mode, sleep/heart-rate/stress tracking, and an SpO2 sensor.

You’re also getting 4GB of storage, the ability to make/receive calls, notification access, music controls for your phone, and remote control functionality for OnePlus TVs.

One major mystery is whether the OnePlus Watch will run Wear OS, and this still remains to be seen. However, Agarwal later tweeted that it “doesn’t seem to feature Google’s Wear OS.”

For what it’s worth, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau previously stated the company was working with Google “to try to improve the connectivity between the Wear OS ecosystem, Android TV, and Android smartphones.” So it certainly sounds like Wear OS is being used on the OnePlus Watch, or on another wearable altogether.
