The OnePlus One launched yesterday with a lot of fanfare, but there was one thing missing – the promised StyleSwap replaceable back covers.

Back in March, CEO Pete Lau teased the OnePlus One’s replaceable back covers made of wood, bamboo, denim, and Kevlar. While we were expecting to see them during yesterday’s launch event in Beijing, their release was apparently postponed. Luckily, Chinese website CNMO was able to snap some hands-on photos of the wood and bamboo plates, along with the regular Sandstone Black plastic back cover (we were only given the Silk White model for our hands-on). No photos of the denim or Kevlar versions yet.

OnePlus has obviously taken a page from Motorola’s book with these natural material back covers. The Google-owned company is offering bamboo and wood covers for the Moto X, and if @evleaks is to be believed, it may follow up with several genuine leather finishes in 2014.

Motorola is asking an extra $25 for its wood back covers, and we expect that OnePlus will ask a fee for its special covers as well. With a starting point of $299, there’s probably no room left for any extras for the 6-month old startup.
