  • OnePlus has announced a new special edition Nord 2.
  • The Pac-Man Edition features a glow-in-the-dark colorway, “gamified” Oxygen OS, and more.

OnePlus has launched many special edition products in its lifetime, from partnerships with Cyberpunk 2077 to Harry Potter, Marvel, and McLaren. Now, the company has officially revealed a new Pac-Man-themed OnePlus Nord 2.

Officially dubbed the OnePlus Nord 2 Pac-Man Edition, the company promises that the phone will provide users with a “new gamified” experience, especially fans of the Bandai Namco property.

For starters, the OnePlus Nord 2 gains a new colorway that users “phosphorescent ink applied to its innermost film.” As a result, OnePlus claims this phone glows in the dark. Beyond aesthetics, Oxygen OS also gets a Pac-Man-themed overhaul complete with games, Easter eggs, and other content baked into it. “Think of it like mastering an arcade game, only without spending a ton of quarters,” OnePlus quips on its announcement post.

As for the phone itself, you’re getting 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. In terms of hardware, not much else is different. You’ll still get a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen, a Dimensity 1200 AI chipset, a 50MP primary camera, and a 4,500mAh battery powering the lot.

OnePlus Nord 2 Pac-Man Edition: Pricing and availability

As for the price, you’ll need €529, £499, or Rs 37,999 (~$510-$673) to snag one in Europe or India. That’s considerably pricier than the standard Nord 2 in these regions.

The OnePlus Nord 2 follows up the company's mid-range debut from 2020. The phone builds on last year's formula with a new design, faster processor, and the 50MP camera sensor from the higher-end OnePlus 9 series.

As for availability, well, it seems for now you can only win the device. You can give OnePlus’ Pac-Man game a whirl for a chance to win. However, expect more details on general sales to arrive in the coming days.
