TL;DR
  • OnePlus has accidentally listed the Nord 2 on its website, confirming its existence.
  • The listing therefore suggests that the phone’s release is imminent.

OnePlus announced a rather interesting deal for Europe yesterday (May 25) as it offered Stadia Premiere Edition with every new OnePlus device sold. The OnePlus website has all the details, but it looks like the company accidentally confirmed something else too.

The OnePlus website FAQ section briefly listed the Nord 2 as a qualifying phone for this deal too (h/t: Android Police), alongside the likes of the OnePlus 9 series, OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8T, and the original Nord. OnePlus has since removed the Nord 2 mention, but Android Police took a screenshot of it, seen below.

In any event, the reference suggests that the Nord 2 isn’t too far away. We’ve already seen a few rumors regarding the upcoming device, and it’s believed that this could be the first OnePlus device with a MediaTek processor. More specifically, it’s claimed that the mid-ranger will be equipped with the Dimensity 1200 processor. So expect a significant bump in CPU and GPU power on paper over the original Nord’s Snapdragon 765G chipset.

There’s no word on other rumored specs for the Nord 2, but we’d definitely like to see better cameras instead of more of them, three years of Android version updates, and a US release. You can check out our OnePlus Nord 2 wishlist at the link.
