OnePlus celebrates its fourth birthday with discounts, giveaways

OnePlus is celebrating its birthday. Just four short years ago, the company popped up on social media revealing details of its upcoming phone, the OnePlus One. From that point on, it has been in the public eye and has made waves on several fronts, both good and bad.

To its credit, OnePlus acknowledges its missteps right alongside its triumphs. In a post on its forums today, co-founder Carl Pei stated that the company is “what happened when a couple of friends refused to let go of their dreams.” Sometimes those dreams lead to incredible wins like the OnePlus One, which sold over one million units. Sometimes they lead to misguided promotions like Smash the Past and Ladies First.

Despite its mistakes, the company was able to move on to make the OnePlus 3, 3T, 5, and 5T, all pretty stellar phones. In fact, the OnePlus 3T won our phone of the year last year. Now, to celebrate its success, along with its fourth birthday, OnePlus is rolling out a series of discounts, special deals, and giveaways. It’s also telling the story of its fans, not just the company.

The discounts are already live. You can head to the website to check them out now. It is taking anywhere between 5% and 30% off selected accessories. A limited holiday gift bundle will also go on sale soon. The bundles will include some of the company’s best-selling accessories. You’ll be able to pick one up for 50% off the normal price of the accessories when it goes on sale December 14 at 9:00 AM CET.

If you don’t want to spend any money to get some gear, there will also be a giveaway. This giveaway kicks off on December 17 and includes prizes like backpacks, messenger bags, t-shirts, caps, and more. There’s also one mystery prize that it is keeping under wraps for now. The more you’ve interacted with the company (forum posts, buying devices, writing reviews, etc.), the more chances you’ll get.

OnePlus knows that it wouldn’t have been able to get this far without its fans and customers. The story of its fourth anniversary isn’t just about OnePlus.
