Update, April  8 2020 (6:39AM ET): We first got word of new OnePlus Bullets Wireless earphones last week, with more rumored features leaked by Ishan Agarwal earlier this week (see below). Now, OnePlus has indeed confirmed that new ‘buds are coming, while also touching on its fast charging capabilities. You can read the full story over here.

Original article, April 6 2020 (6:20AM ET): OnePlus launched its Bullets Wireless earphones alongside the OnePlus 6 in 2018, offering a neckband design and quick charging technology. The firm followed up with the Bullets Wireless 2 last year, featuring a very similar design.

Now, noted leaker Ishan Agarwal and 91mobiles report that OnePlus is launching OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z earbuds. It was initially reported by the duo that the new product will be a true wireless design, ditching the cable and neckband between the two earphones. But Agarwal later clarified that these would still retain the cable between the two buds like the previous earphones.

Later leaks by Agarwal and Pricebaba revealed more apparent features, starting with an IP55-rated design and lower Bluetooth latency (110ms). But the duo also noted that the earbuds are capable of lasting up to 20 hours, and said that 10 minutes of charging should give you 10 hours of playback.

The leaker adds that the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z is coming “very soon,” although there’s no word on an exact date. So we’d expect it to show up on or before the OnePlus 8 series launch on April 14.

The Bullets Wireless 2 offered Bluetooth 5 connectivity, aptX support, and Quick Pair tech, so fingers crossed that these features land on the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z too.

This wasn’t the only nugget of OnePlus information to be had from Agarwal in his first leak, as he confirmed that a Warp Charge 30 wireless charger will launch with the OnePlus 8 series. This is to be expected, as previous leaks point to the OnePlus 8 Pro having 30W wireless charging capabilities. So it only makes sense for OnePlus to release an accessory that makes the most of the charging speed.
