TL;DR
  • OnePlus has given us a roadmap for when it will release its beta version of Android 13.
  • The timeline OnePlus provided is vague at best.
  • The company says the stable version will be tuned according to beta feedback and released after meeting its standards.

Google released Android 13 for Pixel phones back in August and beta versions of the update have been slowly trickling down to other Android phones ever since. Although Android 13 is yet to be widely available, some manufacturers have at least provided a roadmap for when consumers can expect the beta to arrive on their devices. OnePlus is the latest manufacturer to offer a timeline, but it’s a bit vague.

As owners of OnePlus devices probably know, OnePlus’ version of Android 13 is called Oxygen OS. The company is currently working on Oxygen OS 13, but in the meantime, is sending out a beta version of the update. Like Samsung, however, the company is rolling out the beta to its portfolio of devices in stages. Understandably, this has many owners wondering when the beta will find its way to their handsets.

To answer that question, the company released an Oxygen OS 13 beta rollout timeline on its community page. However, it’s probably not as detailed as OnePlus users hoped for.

As you can see in the image above, a large chunk of OnePlus’ devices are scheduled to get the beta sometime in the fourth quarter of 2022. When exactly is anybody’s guess.

In addition to the timeline, however, the company did offer some context by answering a few questions. One of the answers explains that the “released” that appears next to the name of these devices means the first open beta has been released for that device in certain areas. The company also explains that the reason the closed/open beta is only available in certain areas is because of user volume and feedback, operator TA, and software development progress.

In the small writing, you may have noticed OnePlus states that the Nord N20 SE is expected to get the stable version of Oxygen OS 13 in the first half of 2023. It’s possible that OnePlus’ other devices could follow around that time.
