OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 edition goes official with themed design, UI, and more

OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition smartphone in collaboration with Polish video game developer CD Projekt Red.
The biggest draw of the special edition phone is its Cyberpunk 2077-inspired design. OnePlus and CD Projekt Red have generously used the neon yellow Cyberpunk color to accentuate the edges and buttons of the device.
The phone also carries a ton of branding on its back panel which is divided into three parts: the upper part with the large camera housing, the middle part made of AG glass, and the bottom part featuring a shiny carbon black finish.
Elsewhere, OnePlus has taken several design cues from the game to create custom animations and UI elements for the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 edition. For instance, the fingerprint unlock effect corresponds to the eye scanning mechanism in the game, the charging animation simulates the process of hacking, and the app icons are redrawn in bright neon colors. The edges of the phone also light up a neon blue when it’s turned on.
OnePlus has also added two new camera filters — Night City and Northern California — to the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 edition. They allow you to take Cyberpunk-style photos. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau recently shared some camera samples of these filters on Weibo. You can see them below.
Besides this, the phone features recognizable Cyberpunk 2077 music for ringtones and alerts. You also get some game goodies in the box, including a case that lights up and a manual that doubles up as a poster.
OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk edition specs, price, and availability
In terms of specs, the special edition phone packs the same hardware as the regular OnePlus 8T. That means you’re still getting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, not the 865 Plus. There’s a single 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version of the phone priced at 3,999 Chinese yuan (~$597).
The availability of the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition phone is currently restricted to China. The phone will go on pre-sale starting November 4, with wider availability will start on November 11. We’ll update this article when we know anything about the phone’s global availability.
