OnePlus 6T might come in Thunder Purple (which probably means no red)

If you love the color purple, you'll be excited to know there's evidence to suggest a purple OnePlus 6T is on the way.

TL;DR
  • Several pieces of evidence suggest there will be a purple variant of the OnePlus 6T.
  • The evidence points to a OnePlus 6T in a color called Thunder Purple launching at the end of November.
  • If this is, in fact, the case, it likely means OnePlus will not release a red variant of the 6T as it has for the 5T and the 6.

For the past two iterations of OnePlus smartphones, the company eventually has released a red variant. The OnePlus 5T had a Lava Red version while the OnePlus 6 had a more simply-named Red variant.

One would thus expect the OnePlus 6T to have a red version as well. However, there are multiple pieces of evidence to suggest OnePlus is changing things up and will instead offer a purple version of its latest smartphone.

The first bit of evidence for this stems from a now-removed listing of OnePlus devices on an official support page, first caught by Ishan Agarwal. If one clicked a drop-down box to see a list of OnePlus products, an option for something called a OnePlus 6T Thunder Purple would show.

See the screenshot below:

The second bit of evidence also first appeared on Twitter via Alexander Spengler. He posted a screenshot of a rogue listing on the German version of Amazon.com which showed a OnePlus 6T in Thunder Purple with a November 30 ship date. The price was listed as 579 euros (~$660), which would suggest the Thunder Purple variant would come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

Finally, Phone Arena posted a render of what the Thunder Purple variant could look like. The image is very small for some reason but it at least gives you an idea:

What do you think? Is this purple variant going to be better than the previously-expected red variant? Let us know your opinions in the comments!
