The OnePlus 5T was released only a few weeks ago at the end of November, but it has already seen a couple of updates. The first of these arrived a couple of days after the smartphone’s global release, delivering some early enhancements and fixes. The latest, Oxygen OS 4.7.4, was outlined yesterday on the OnePlus forums, and it delivers some more exciting additions for fans.

Firstly, the OnePlus 5T camera software has been upgraded to provide optimizations to photo quality and the user interface. As one of the weaker areas of the flagship handset, improvements with regards to the 5T’s camera are welcomed.

OnePlus 5T Android Oreo update

OnePlus rolled out the final build of Android Nougat to the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T on December 31 last year, hours within its self-imposed New Year deadline. This year, OnePlus hasn’t made such promises regarding when its Android Oreo software update will first arrive, but it is already in the works for the OnePlus 5.

OnePlus has also confirmed that the 5T will receive Android 8.1 Oreo, though it ruled out support for Project Treble — a Google initiative which aims to bring updates to devices faster.

The OnePlus 5T (currently on Android 7.1.1) should be the joint-first or second OnePlus device to receive Oreo, beside the OnePlus 5, and we’re expecting the rollout to begin in early 2018.
