Nokia 3.1 smartphone

Update (06/12/18): You can now pre-order the Nokia 3.1 on Amazon and B&H Photo. The phone is available in black, blue, and gold, with availability set for July 2. B&H Photo throws in a 5,200mAh battery pack with the preorder, with no bonuses offered through Amazon.

You can pre-order the Nokia 3.1 at the links below.

It was only one week ago when HMD Global unveiled the Nokia 3.1, which replaces the outgoing Nokia 3 and was announced for an eventual launch. Taking all of us by surprise, listings for the phone are now live in the U.S.

Even though the Nokia 3.1 is technically available through Amazon and B&H Photo, the phone shows up as out of stock through the former and coming soon through the latter. Additionally, this is the variant with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage. HMD Global also announced a variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, though we do not know if that version will be available stateside.

As a recap, the Nokia 3.1 features a 5.2-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 1,440 x 720 resolution, 13MP primary camera, octa-core MediaTek MT6755 chipset, 2,990mAh battery, expandable storage, and a headphone jack. The phone lacks a fingerprint sensor, though it features NFC for mobile payments.

The Nokia 3.1 also runs Android 8.1 Oreo and is part of Google’s Android One program. That means the phone will get Android P and Q, along with monthly security updates. HMD Global developed a solid track record in regards to software updates, so we do not have any concerns with the phone in that context.

You can find the Nokia 3.1 at the links below for $159. We will update this post once the phone is available for purchase.
