TL;DR
  • Motorola’s new Snap Wireless Charger brings MagSafe-like magnetic charging to compatible Qi2 devices, with speeds of up to 25W.
  • The slim aluminum charger works with magnetic cases and can slot into an optional stand for upright charging.
  • Pricing and availability haven’t been announced yet, but the charger will come in three Pantone color options.

Motorola is steadily building out its accessory lineup, and its latest addition could be particularly interesting if you’ve been waiting for the company to properly embrace magnetic wireless charging. At IFA 2026, Motorola officially unveiled the Snap Wireless Charger, an accessory that recently leaked.

The idea will be instantly familiar if you’ve used Apple’s MagSafe or seen Google’s PixelSnap charger. It magnetically snaps onto the back of your phone and delivers up to 25W of wireless charging with compatible Qi2 devices. The magnets keep the charger aligned, and it works through compatible magnetic cases, too.

That means you can pick up your phone to answer a message without interrupting charging, and you won’t have to carefully line it up on a charging pad before bed.

There’s also an optional stand that the charging puck slots into, similar to Google’s Pixel Stand. That could be handy on a desk, keeping your phone upright while it charges so you can easily check notifications or control music while you work.

We also saw the Snap Wireless Charger in person, and it’s impressively slim and compact. The aluminum body gives it a premium feel, and Motorola says it comes with a 1.5-meter braided USB-C cable in the box, along with built-in protections against overheating and overcharging.

The Snap Wireless Charger will be available in three colors: Pantone Nimbus Cloud, Pantone Oyster Mushroom, and House of Moto Indigo Blue. More importantly, the Snap Wireless Charger shows that Motorola is taking Qi2 accessories more seriously. Magnetic charging is hard to give up once you get used to simply snapping your phone onto a charger or stand. And with Motorola now making its own Qi2 accessories, Motorola users have more ways to take advantage of it.

A couple of important blanks remain, though. We don’t know how much the Snap Wireless Charger will cost or exactly when it’ll go on sale. Price will matter, given there are already plenty of third-party Qi2 chargers to choose from. Still, if you’ve wanted a MagSafe-like charging experience for your Motorola phone, there’s finally an official option on the way.
