Motorola's Android 17 rollout is bringing a helpful feature to more devices

Motorola began its rollout of Android 17 back in August. While some select models now have the stable version of the latest major OS update, the rollout is still underway. Once your device upgrades to Android 17, it will gain a number of improvements, like a refreshed Quick Settings panel and cross-platform Quick Sharing. You can now also add Motorola Qira to that list.

Today, Motorola announced that it is expanding Qira to more compatible devices. This includes select devices across the Signature, Razr, and Edge families. The company says owners of these devices should be on the lookout for Qira after updating to Android 17.

Qira was first introduced during CES 2026. As a brief refresher, it’s an AI ecosystem that unifies Moto AI, Lenovo AI Now, Creator Zone, and Learning Zone. This means users have a single AI interface and wake word across these platforms, as well as shared memory and context.

The benefit is that Qira provides a continuous experience as you switch between your Motorola and Lenovo devices. For example, you could save notes on your phone with Qira and then pick up where you left off on your Lenovo tablet without having to retype anything or search for the same files.

Once Qira becomes available on your handset, you’ll be able to access it by saying “Hey Qira,” through on-screen entry points, or by pressing the dedicated AI key. The Moto G series is also getting Android 17. However, based on the wording in the press release, it looks like there are no plans to bring Qira to this line of phones.
