Motorola One Macro images leak, could feature macro camera lens, naturally

The leak suggests the Motorola One Macro will be a budget device with a quad-lens camera setup on the rear.

The folks over at GSM Arena spotted an accidental leak of what appears to be an upcoming device called the Motorola One Macro. If true, it would join the other devices in the Motorola One line, including the Motorola One Action, Motorola One Vision, and Motorola One Zoom.

We previously saw a physical leak of the Motorola One Macro via XDA Developers, but that didn’t show us the back of the device. This new leak — via a Saudi Arabian retail site listing, since removed — appears to be a press render and shows much of the back camera setup.

Check out the leaked image below, preserved via a screenshot by GSM Arena:

The front of the device looks very similar to the other phones in the One line, complete with a waterdrop notch. The back of the device, though, features an interesting camera array that reminds us of the HUAWEI P30 Pro setup.

The large sensor at the top appears to be the main camera lens and could be a 13MP sensor. Details are sketchy at the moment, but we suspect one of the other lens to be a macro lens for taking close-up photography. The full specs of the camera setup are still a mystery.

Although the Motorola One Macro might have some neat camera tricks, it still won’t be anything near a flagship for the company. We expect it to launch with a MediaTek Helio P60 processor, an HD display, and just 2GB of RAM. It’s starting price could be somewhere in the $250 range.

What do you think? Are you ready for a smartphone that can take great macro shots but has some pretty weak specs? Let us know in the comments.
