Lenovo’s Motorola division has confirmed what we previously reported last week. The company will officially begin rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat updates for its Moto Z and Moto Z Force smartphones worldwide this week. Some Verizon customers have already received these updates on their Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid phones.

Along with the updates to Google’s latest version of Android, the Moto Z and Moto Z Force will also support the company’s Daydream smartphone VR system with this update. That means these phones are the first third-party Android devices to officially support viewing virtual reality apps and games that use the Daydream View headset, following the release of Google’s own Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.

As usual with these kinds of over-the-air updates, it may take a few days or even weeks for the Nougat upgrade to reach your specific Moto Z or Moto Z Force. Motorola has set up a website that will allow people in different parts of the world to see when the update will makes its way to its phone, based on both location and carrier approval. There’s no word on when the Moto Z Play will receive a similar update.
