Moto X (1st gen) Lollipop soak test is under way
Motorola continues to push out updates to its smartphone range, with the first generation Moto X becoming the latest handset to begin soak testing its Android Lollipop update. This comes after the second generation Moto X received its own Lollipop update a few months ago.
Taking to Google+, Motorola’s Luciano Carvalho confirmed that the first generation Moto X will be receiving Android 5.0.2 . As for the newer Android 5.1 OS update, no plans or decisions have been taken yet, apparently.
The soak test is heading out to testers right now, who will double check that everything is working smoothly before a rollout to general users probably sometime in the next month or so. Moto X (1st gen) owners shouldn’t have to wait too much longer for an official Lollipop build, although carrier branded versions may have to hold out a little while longer.
