It’s been quite a big day for Telltale Games. First, the game developer released their much anticipated Tales from the Borderlands game to the Play Store, and the company still isn’t done with announcements. Telltale Games and Mojang have just announced the new game Minecraft: Story Mode. The game is set to release sometime in 2015 for consoles, computers, and mobile devices.

If you’re a fan of Telltale Games, you may be thinking that this is an odd direction for the company to take. Actually, the game isn’t going to be any type of Minecraft extension. It will be a standalone product that is set in the world of Minecraft, but will be driven by player-choice, just as we’ve seen in all other Telltale games. Minecraft: Story Mode will be released in multiple episodes, and available for purchase separately.

Telltale is a game developer that has released such titles as The Wolf Among Us, Game of Thrones, and The Walking Dead, so we’re not quite sure the direction they will take with Story Mode. We can assume, however, that the game will be heavily based on dialogue, awesome graphics, and feature a great story. Oh, and make sure to follow the Mojang link below, and click on Info Quest II. There’s an interactive press release that you can play through to get all of your information.
