New Meizu leak of images, specs and benchmarks: but is this the Pro 6 or MX6?

The latest Meizu leak includes in-the-wild photos, specs and benchmarks, but inconsistencies point to the possibility that this is the Meizu MX6 rather than the Meizu Pro 6, as the leak claims.

Meizu Pro 6

The Meizu Pro 6 seems to be in a neck-and-neck battle with the HTC 10 right now to see which device can get leaked more than the other. In an eleventh hour master stroke, the latest Meizu leak includes in-the-wild photos, specs and benchmarks. At this point, that would usually mean the full picture has been painted, but this leak only serves to mystify what we thought we knew about the Meizu Pro 6.

Without going into too many details (which would only serve to confuse things even further), the latest specs and benchmarks have the Meizu Pro 6 with a smaller, lower resolution display and a different processor to the rest of the Meizu Pro 6 specs leaks we’ve seen so far. If this sounds like it’s more likely a different device, then you’re not alone in that thinking.

Meizu leak - Pro 6 or MX6

It has been suggested that the most recent specs and images leaked for the Meizu Pro 6 are in fact for the Meizu MX6 instead. The problem lies in the fact that the AnTuTu results clearly list the Pro 6 as the device being benchmarked. So how does a 5.7-inch QHD display get downgraded to a 5.2-inch Full HD screen? We have no idea.

This one is too sticky to try to unravel fully, with several other inconsistencies further muddying the waters, but with the official Meizu Pro 6 launch coming tomorrow we don’t have long to wait. Remember too that the HTC10 is due to be announced today, so we’ll soon see which leaks turned out to be more accurate.

Do you think this is the Meizu Pro 6 or the MX6? What do you think of these endless pre-launch leaks?
