Marshall Headphones has broken out of its usual headphone and speaker releases and jumped into the world of true wireless audio. The new Marshall Mode II earbuds draw inspiration from the company’s famed guitar amplifiers, but the appeal is more than skin deep. Comfort and functionality come first with these earphones, and Marshall provides an array of ear tips so each listener can get the best fit.

The Mode II true wireless earbuds are designed for everyday, all-day listening and boast an IPX4 water-resistant rating for the ‘buds and case. You can take these earbuds from the subway, to the gym, and up to the office. The five-hour standalone battery life is slightly above average, while the case provides 20 hours of battery reserve. Listeners can charge the case via USB-C or with a wireless charging mat. Fast charging is not supported with the Marshall Mode II, but it takes just two hours to fully charge the case and earbuds.

Bluetooth 5.1 powers these earphones, and you can take control of media playback or field incoming calls directly from the touch-sensitive housings. Marshall lets you customize how the Mode II sound with its in-app EQ module. This is a great option for listeners who don’t necessarily want bass and treble amplification by default. iPhone users won’t be able to enjoy high-quality Bluetooth streaming as the earbuds support just the aptX and SBC Bluetooth codecs.

The Marshall Mode II true wireless earbuds come in black and retail for $179. They are available for pre-order today through Marshall’s website, and officially launch on March 18.
