The word “originality” sometimes gets used when it shouldn’t when describing a new mobile game. However, Lumino City definitely deserves for that term to be applied. The acclaimed puzzle adventure game from developer State of Play has now been released on Android in the Google Play Store via publisher Noodlecake Studios.

Lumino City was first released for the PC in late 2014, followed by a launch on iOS in 2015. The game was hand-crafted, and we mean that; the development team used real paper, cards, miniature lights and motors to construct a 10-foot high model which took three years to make.

The model is the basis for the game, which puts players in the role of the character Lumi. She has to find her kidnapped grandfather somewhere in Lumino City, where he is the caretaker. Lumi, and the player, also has to figure out its many puzzles and challenges on her quest.

Lumino City normally would cost $4.99 in the Google Play Store, but for its launch week, you can get it for just $2.99. The game also has no in-app purchases, and supports Google Play Game Services like achievements and cloud saves. However, the game is definitely not for every Android device. It is recommended for smartphones and tablets that have at least 2 GB of RAM, and it will take up over 1 GB of storage.

If you have already purchased and downloaded Lumino City on your Android phone or tablet, what are your initial impressions? Let us know your opinions in the comments!
