Smart ambient lighting lets you add personality to indoor and outdoor spaces. But unless you’re willing to splurge, you usually end up picking one thing and living with its limits. A flame-effect lamp adds atmosphere but does nothing else, string lights add glow without much shape, and functional lights don’t give you the splash of color you might be looking for. The Linkind Smart Light Stick brings it all together.

It screws into a standard E26 socket like any regular bulb, but uses controllable color zones to build a flickering flame effect, full-color lighting, and up to 850 lumens of brightness, all from one fixture. The Linkind Smart Light Stick and the AiDot app work together, so the same socket that used to hold a plain bulb can flicker like fire in the evening and light a room clearly during the day. Here’s what you need to know.

Flame effects and color zones

Add the Linkind Smart Light Stick to an outdoor sconce or patio lamp post, open the AiDot app, pick a flame mode, and it starts moving through warm oranges and reds to create a campfire look. You can size the flame up or down, choose between a single warm tone or a dual-color effect that blends two hues as it flickers, and adjust how fast it moves.

The Smart Light Stick features 160 LEDs across 50 zones, each set to a different color. That density makes the flicker look like it is moving through the bulb rather than pulsing on and off as one block of light. With a 310-degree beam angle and 850 lumens of brightness, the light also spreads wide enough to fill a room or a porch corner, rather than throwing a narrow, spotlight-style cone.

Outside of flame mode, those same 50 zones let you build other looks, whether you’re looking for gradient shifts across the color spectrum, a warm glow for an evening wind down, or dim lighting while you catch up on your favorite shows. With 16 million colors available through the app, there are plenty of ways to build the perfect scene.

And with group control, you can manage up to 16 Smart Light Sticks to run the same pattern together across a room or a string of outdoor fixtures, useful for anyone lighting a whole porch or backyard.

Dotis AI and other smart features

Linkind’s Dotis AI adds another layer of automated lighting control, letting you generate effects and combinations from prompts instead of building every scene by hand. All you have to do is describe a mood and let Dotis put together a pattern that fits. You can quickly create a specific atmosphere without spending a long time individually tuning a bunch of color sliders.

Of course, you get everything else you’d expect from a modern, smart light bulb. Music Sync lets the lighting react to sound, scheduled lighting turns fixtures on and off automatically, and a night light mode keeps a soft glow running overnight without cranking the brightness up.

It connects via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and the Linkind Smart Light Stick supports Matter, so it works with Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings.

The housing is polycarbonate and aluminum with built-in UV resistance, so it works equally well for outdoor sconces and patio fixtures as well as lamps kept indoors. An automatic upright sensor adjusts the flame orientation based on how the fixture is mounted, so the effect looks right whether the bulb points up or down.
