LG G8S ThinQ launches in India, takes fight to OnePlus
LG India launched two new smartphones in India over the weekend without much fanfare. The new LG G8S ThinQ amd LG Q60 come to India seven months after they were first announced in February 2019. The LG G8S ThinQ is a toned-down version of the LG G8, while the LG Q60 is a budget handset.
LG G8S ThinQ specs

In terms of specs, the LG G8S ThinQ gets the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 SoC, just like the G8. Its 6.2-inch OLED FullVision display takes a cutback compared to the G8, with a resolution of 2,248 x 1,080 pixels. The aspect ratio of the display is set at 18.7:9.
Another major point of difference between the G8S ThinQ and the standard G8 is the camera setup. The G8S ThinQ features a triple rear camera setup with a 12MP standard lens, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP 2x telephoto shooter. In comparison, the G8 sports two primary cameras — a 12MP standard camera and 16MP ultra-wide lens.
The front of the phone gets a Time of Flight (ToF) camera which supports hand gestures and face unlock. There’s also an 8MP selfie camera up there in the notch.
Under the hood, the LG G8S ThinQ offers 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It gets a 3,550mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. A physical fingerprint sensor rests on the back of the phone.
The LG G8S ThinQ is IP68 rated for water and dust resistance. It comes with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box and is available in Mirror Black, Mirror Teal and Mirror White colorways.
LG Q60 specs
As far as the LG Q60 is concerned, the device gets entry-level specs similar to the Samsung Galaxy A10s, realme C2, Moto E6s and more. The Q60 gets the MediaTek Helio P22 treatment. There’s 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage onboard.
On the display front, the LG Q60 comes bearing a 6.26-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1,520 pixels. There’s a triple 16MP+5MP+2MP camera setup at the back and a 13MP selfie snapper on the front.
The LG Q60 also features a rear fingerprint sensor and runs on Android 9. A 3,500mAh battery powers the device.
