LG is finally ready to release the G6 in India. A sign-up page just went live, allowing customers in India to “register their interest” for LG’s new flagship.

Thanks in part to the decision to use the older Snapdragon 821 processor, LG had a head start on archrival Samsung in the 2017 flagship game. At least in India, however, the company squandered this advantage by dragging its feet when it comes to bringing the G6 to market.

The G6 was unveiled on February 26 and went on sale on select markets on April 7. While we still don’t know when LG will release it in India, the fact that pre-registration is now open means the date can’t be too far. Samsung’s impending launch of the Galaxy S8 and S8 in India might have helped kick LG into action. The S8 and S8 Plus pre-registration pages went live last week, with concrete availability details set to be announced on April 19.

Android Central’s Harish Jonnalagadda speculates that the G6 could cost around Rs. 50,000 (around $775), which might give it an edge against the Galaxy S8. The latter could cost around Rs. 60,000 ($930) in India.
