TL;DR
  • LG has announced that three phones will receive Android 12 in Korea in Q2 2022.
  • These phones are the Q92 5G, V50, and V50S.
  • Several more devices will receive security patches in the quarter too.

LG announced its exit from the smartphone industry almost a year ago, following a years-long presence in the segment. The company promised that it would still release updates for recent devices, and it’s now announced a brief list of phones that will be updated to Android 12 in Q2 2022.

LG posted its software update plans for Q2 2022 on its Korean website, and it turns out that three phones will be receiving Android 12 in the quarter. You can check out these phones below:

  • LG Q92 5G
  • LG V50
  • LG V50S

The company also announced a list of phones that will receive security patches in this quarter, namely the LG Q52, Velvet, and Wing

It’s worth noting that this list applies to the Korean market, so there’s no guarantee that users outside LG’s home region will see these updates in Q2 as well. Nevertheless, this does at least suggest that Android 12 is coming to global versions of these phones at some point.
