HUAWEI P30 Lite launched in India with 32MP front camera, waterdrop notch
Huawei has launched the midrange version of its latest flagship, the P30 Lite, at an event in India. HUAWEI announced the handset earlier today alongside the P30 Pro, though the regular P30 won’t be made available in the region.
The P30 Lite features a 6.15-inch Full HD+ (2,321 x 1,080) display with waterdrop notch, Kirin 710 chip, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of expandable storage.
On the device’s rear is a fingerprint scanner and a triple camera setup featuring a main 24MP f/1.8 camera, an 8MP f/2.4 ultra-wide camera (with a 120-degree field of view), and a 2MP depth sensor. The front camera, meanwhile, comes in at 32MP.
The handset also includes a 3,340mAh battery (with 18-watt charging), USB-C connectivity, and GPU Turbo 2.o support — said to offer better processing and reduced battery drain when playing compatible games.
HUAWEI P30 Lite in India: Value for money
The P30 Lite price is set at 19,990 rupees (~$287) for the 4GB RAM model and 22,990 rupees (~$330) for the 6GB RAM model.
It’s set to go on sale on Amazon from April 25 for Prime customers, or April 26 for regular customers, in Midnight Black and Peacock Blue colors. It will also be available across 120 Croma retail stores starting in May.
The P30 Lite hits an Indian market packed with quality, low-cost devices; its undercut by the 6GB RAM/128GB ROM Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro at 16,999 rupees (~$244), while the new Samsung Galaxy A50 is priced identically to the P30 Lite for its 4GB RAM and 6GB of RAM models. The Galaxy A50 only comes with 64GB of storage, but in our review (at the previous link) we called it “Samsung’s best mid-ranger in years.” It will be interesting to see whether consumers prefer that or the HUAWEI P30 Lite.
